4/7/21

I was in New York. I had gone out to a restaurant with Grandma Dona and Amy and all them. I left the restaurant while holding hands with grandma. Then I was walking. I think I was walking with Mom. We walked downtown until it didn't even seem like the city anymore. It was like an industrial area or a place where people lived—not in apartments or condos, but I don't remember if I saw any actual houses or anything like a suburbia, which is why I say industrial area. Though it wasn't super industrial like you'd think. It was more just a couple big, gray-box buildings spread apart. Main point is that the city had tapered out, there were less people around, etc.

Anyway, Mom and I realized we'd gone down further than we wanted to, so we sought a map to see where we were. Mom began pulling out a paper map but I was scared it was going to be super big and for some reason I didn't want to draw attention to us, so I pointed out a public map, like those ones that are in malls. Like a mall directory with four sides showing different things on each side. I walked around it until I got to the side with the map of the city. There was one other guy looking at the map but I kept the socially acceptable distance so it wasn't awkward. I saw that we were right above the financial district. I was surprised how sparse and un-city-like the area was considering we were pretty much still just in lower Manhattan.

Some guys came up and started looking at the map too. I moved back to accommodate all of us and maintain that socially acceptable distance. The map cube-thing was underneath a staircase so there wasn't much room if you didn't want to hunch over, so we were all kind of off to the side. One of the men started dancing. Then another started to do the exact same dance in sync. Then another started. I smiled then left.

Then I was at an airport with Mom and Catherine. Catherine and I were supposed to get uptown fast for some reason so we had to take a plane. We were to fly to the hospital up by Columbia. I was trying to find my passport in Mom's bag but couldn't. I kept finding other people's passports but not my own. I did find my passport though eventually. I went over to the check-in desk. It looked like one of those casino desks with the glass separating you from the worker. Rebekah was the attendant at the desk. I kept having worrying thoughts about the plane crashing. I knew it would be a small plane, since we were going such a short distance, and I kept thinking about JFK Jr.

Then it was just me and Julia at the airport waiting for the flight. We were sitting at a big circular table. We were sitting one chair apart from each other. There were lots of other open tables at the place, but this group of people came to sit at ours for some reason. They were still sitting down when Dad showed up. He sat in a chair between two of the people in that group. It was kind of weird since the people were probably waiting for another member of their party to come over and sit there. Dad started talking to Julia. He was talking loudly to make up for the distance across the table. He was saying something about how he cut up the pancakes she was eating into zig-zags. I woke up then and looked at the clock and it was 11:08. Two minutes after that I turned 23.

I was in a church and I was leaning over a casket which contained the body of Christ. A priest came over and made some remark about the casket while smiling. I could tell that he actually wanted me to get away from it, but I didn't because I figured Jesus would not have minded. Owen and Jake were also there, but I wasn't hanging out with them.

At one point, I was drinking tea and needed to fill up my cup with more hot water, so I went to this weird drinking fountain. Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were there and I'd drift over to them occasionally, but Nicole was actually [Instagram mutual]. I would “cheers” with them when I went over, like “cheers” the glasses. I wanted them to like me—and we were getting along—but I still felt like I was too weird to be their friend.

Then we left the church and went for a walk up the street by Jill's house. I dropped my chapstick so I had to stop to pick it up. While I did that they kept walking and in that short amount of time that I was away from them, they got arrested. I don't know why.

At the end of the dream we went back to Paris's house, but Nicole didn't come with us, and that made me sad because I thought the vibe was better with her. We entered the house and Paris was showing us this cake she made when she was a kid. There was this other girl there who was talking and explaining stuff about the cake, like a cake judge. But she was more like a museum tour guide or something. The cake had purple frosting. The girl said it was a coffee cake and therefore the frosting should be “like this'' then she pushed a big chunk of it off the side. She said “that's how it is for coffee cake.” The tour-guide-y woman ate some, then Paris ate some, but Paris got syrup in her hair, so she stood up and said “aww now I have to powder my hair.

I was with [name] in a car, or I was near the car that he was in, and someone was mad at him. Someone he was parked by. They were mad at him for parking his car a certain way or something. I don't really remember the situation or to what extent I was involved. At some point we were in the car together and I was talking to him. I propositioned him or something but he turned me down. Then we walked together for a bit and he seemed to change his mind, but I couldn't really tell.

After a while we went different ways. We were in [neighborhood], but it had all these woodworkers, like these whimsy village people (ornate clogs, etc.) German woodworker weird freaks climbing up the houses and building them. All over. I felt like I'd entered into another reality. It was a sunny day. It was after we parted that I turned onto the road with all the Bavarian freaks.

I continued walking. Eventually I found myself wandering around a museum. I went into this exhibit that said “time waster” or something on the door. Not “time waster” exactly, it was like “extra time spent in this exhibit” or something. I went in. It was an interactive exhibition, like you were supposed to be there with a friend and you'd walk around following the path on the floor and you'd take pictures with your friend and play video games with them at arcade booths and other activities that were along the way. The path was split in two where one side said “share” and the other didn't, which I took to mean one side was for walking and the other was for if you were stopped to take part in whatever activity you were near.

This girl came up to me and started telling me this story about how she was at “Scooby's” that morning and something happened. She was shorter than me and funny and had a personality I got along with. I asked her what Scooby's was and found out that she had been in Mexico that morning at a bar. I was like wow, hectic life.

Then we were drinking milkshakes together with this other girl we'd met in line. I had a vanilla milkshake but I wanted a chocolate one. There were four girls at our table including me. I don't remember how the third girl got there. Another girl was sitting at a table to my right. She was turned around in her chair and asked if she could sit with us. I said “yes, of course” and so she did. We talked and somehow it came out that a girl (one of the girls, I don't remember who) had taken this engineering class I was going to take the next semester. I was shocked because she didn't seem like the type to take an engineering class.

Then I was in the engineering class with some of those girls and Ben and Julia. Ben and I were in one group, Julia and one of the girls was in another group, and the two other girls were in a group. One girl, who'd already taken the class, wasn't there. The teacher was having us do this project where we took a picture based on a prompt. Ben's and my prompt was something about seeing a person try to kill you, but acting like it was a resolvable situation, or just kinda silently observing, like “oh, didn't see you there”. So what we did was, there was this tarp in the room hanging on the wall, and one of us was behind it with a knife, and the other had it slightly pulled back and was staring at the killer like they'd just found them, and the pic was taken from over the victim's shoulder. Our turn came and went.

Then it seemed like the next turn started where people were doing their second photo, but I didn't see our prompt. Ben and I were not planning anything because we didn't think we had to. We thought we were still waiting for our prompt.

Then somehow I had left school and was at home. I had a shopping bag with things in it. Props, I guess, for our photos. I set the bag on the table. Later, I noticed that Mom opened the bag, took out spaghetti and started making it. I was like “nooo we need that for our project.” But she didn't use all of it, only half so I figured we'd still have enough.

Julia and I were traveling. We'd click on a place on a map to go there. We were in the Philippines on a beach. We took our shoes off to walk along the beach. There were so many people though, I decided we should leave and go somewhere else. But when we got back our shoes were gone. I couldn't find them and I panicked. I saw a pair that looked similar to ours but they were high tops. The shoes we had were dark blue Converse.

In my last effort, I went over to this little station house that had a guy in it. Customer services. I told him about the situation and he said he had my shoes stored in a locker, that he takes people's belongings and puts them there for protection while we're gone. I was so thankful. I said thank you so many times.

Then we were deciding where to go next. I was riding a horse or camel and the map wasn't working. We couldn't click to go somewhere. I dismounted the horse and then we clicked and it worked. We went to this “iceberg” in Saudi Arabia or somewhere around there. It wasn't an iceberg though, it was a tourist attraction, completely fabricated and it was very obvious. I thought it was funny. It was like a house in a snowy street area, I can't really explain.

I was at Amy's house. We were eating pizza that was cut into triangle slices. Those slices were divided again down the middle with one half pepperoni and the other jalapeno or banana pepper or something. Then we were at Grandma Sandy's house, but it was in Marine or somewhere rural like that. Mom was there, but she had to go to work, so she was going to leave. I wanted to stay and go for a walk because it was a beautiful day. I thought about inviting one of my friends over so they could walk with me. There was a farm there too, with a pigpen and some pigs.

Dreamt I was sitting in a field kinda on top of a hill. I was with a few people and there were other people besides us hanging around. At the bottom of the hill there was an airport and a runway. A plane went overhead and I saw it was about to land at the airport, but it didn't slow down enough or touch the runway early enough to have time to brake, so it smashed into the airport then exploded.

I ran down to the site of the explosion and could see the pilots in the cockpit. The fuselage was ripped open so the whole interior of the plane was visible. The pilots looked like they were holding onto each other. I didn't think they were alive. I wasn't expecting to see recognizable bodies. The plane literally fire-ball exploded as it hit the airport so I was a little surprised that there was anything left. A small crowd of witnesses started forming near the plane. Inside the body people started opening their eyes and realizing they weren't dead. It seemed like a majority of the people on the flight had actually survived. Again, I was shocked because the entire portion of the airport they crashed into literally blew up.

A lady ran into Grandma Sandy with a shopping cart at a store. Grandma fell, but then she jumped back up really quick which confused me. I was so mad at the lady who hit her with the cart.

Then I was getting sued by the lady, or I was suing the lady but the lady was winning. She was getting all these settlements for millions of dollars from celebrities and presumably me too. Specifically, I remember seeing Rebel Wilson have to pay her money. This pissed me off so much, but it was all actually part of some plan that was bigger than us all, which I didn't understand. At some point I was looking at this weird map on the floor with Saul from Better Call Saul.

Then in a continuation of that dream somehow, I was outside and it was nighttime. I was standing on a driveway in suburbia with a bunch of other people, we were all kind of spread out though. I looked up into the sky and saw a huge plane-sized pokemon fly overhead, like ledyba or something. Suddenly it broke up and crashed (it wasn't alive, it was mechanical). The crash released electric waves when it hit the ground, which I had to jump over.

I'm in New York with Kate for like 3 days or something. I run into this guy and his son and he invites us to see his apartment. It's very pretty with tall, tall ceilings and sparse decorations. I talk to the father about Columbia and the upper west side, then I beg Kate to let us stay a couple more days so we can go do stuff up there. I also want to stay so I can have time to visit Pops's grave.

Then I'm in a house with Paris Hilton and some other girls. We all live there together, like a reality tv show, but there were no cameras around. I was sitting on the bed with one of the girls and she was telling me about her ex boyfriend. She was telling me about how awful he'd been and what he'd put her through. He did something pretty mental case-y and I felt bad that she had to deal with that. We talked for a while. Another girl joined us on the bed too.

I really had to go to the bathroom, so I got up and went over and knocked on the door because Paris was in there and had been for a long time. The door opened and I saw she was sitting on the floor throwing up and she looked very distraught. I said “oh!” then looked outside, back at the bed, to make sure none of the other girls heard me and were going to come over. Paris didnt get along with them super well.

I went in and talked to Paris but she didn't say much. I just told her it would be ok and I cleaned up the mess around her. There were these kumquats cut in half lying around. I figured she'd thrown them up, but they were like exactly cut in half, so it was weird. I felt so bad for her. I wasn't sure what was going on, whether it was food poisoning or she was pregnant or something else. I wished that I'd gone in there earlier. It hurt me to know she was struggling so much while I was just chatting on the bed with the other roommate.

4/27/21

I was really upset because of something Mom did and was crying hysterically and hiding in my room. I don't remember much besides being really upset and crying hard while Mom tried to talk to me but I didn't want to be around her. She was pacing around and Julia was pacing around too, I think, near my room. I was on the floor so all I saw were their feet walking around in circles.

Then I was walking with Mom and Jill. We were walking around this neighborhood. We were on the “return route” but it didn't seem like it. We passed this aquarium that specialized in seals. I thought it was weird that there would be a whole facility dedicated to seals in small-town Minnesota.

Then we went to this coffee shop. We were waiting in line and they were serving soft serve. Mom wanted to get a vanilla and chocolate swirl one, but the machine had just run out. They told us to wait and that there'd be more in a bit. We ran into Luke while waiting. He wanted a swirl cone too. We went back up to the counter, but the guy made us wait until the new batch was almost all the way out before giving us some. He was serving other people. I looked at the “level” of ice cream in the machine and it was almost all the way out. I thought the man was strange and perhaps not very nice.

4/28/21

I was on this TV show, like one where you have to have physical agility like Wipeout. There were lots of physical challenges each day, but other than that it was like Big Brother in that you had to live in a house with all the contestants too. One of the girls there wanted me to help her pin her hair back, so it looked like she had a bob. I tried, but it was hard. She requested it be not “sweet” looking, but also not sloppy because she needed it to indicate the exact state of her childhood demeanor (which was scruffy/tomboyish, I guess). She had long dyed-blonde hair at first, but it became voluminous as I was working on it. I told her “that's how my hair is too.”

Then there was a guy there, another guy from the house, and I did something for him. I did something like he somehow had something on his face that I'd drawn there or I did something silly to his appearance but temporary and also just for fun. We went outside to look at it and laughed.

Then there were all these comic strips strewn about the ground by Grandpa, like Charlie Brown and Pearls Before Swine and some really old Calvin and Hobbes, which I could “tell” were old because the artstyle was like an 80s anime. Some of the comics were funny, but they had red lines connecting the speaker to the text which annoyed me. Like someone had drawn on them. One of them I remember looking at had Calvin's mom and her boyfriend at a store, it was a one panel comic, and behind them was this huge wall of things. One of the things was the triforce from Zelda. There were just a bunch of random silly objects for sale on the wall. I don't know what the punchline of that comic was. It had no text, just that situation. The boyfriend was buying something.
